Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is supporting a client in Derby to hire a Kitchen Assistant for a temporary ongoing role. The position is part-time, Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 14:30, with an immediate start and pay up to £12.71 per hour.

You will assist daily kitchen service, including washing up, vegetable preparation and filling sandwiches. There is no cooking involved; emphasis is on cleanliness, reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting kitchen operations (ideally in a school/educational setting).
• Reliable, professional attitude and strong teamwork.
• Able to follow instructions and maintain high standards throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Washing up to keep kitchen areas clean, safe and organised
• Serving food to customers/visitors with a helpful, positive approach
• Prepping vegetables to support the team during service
• Filling sandwiches and wraps accurately and efficiently
• Supporting the overall flow of the kitchen—without getting involved in any cooking
