Job summary

Orbital Recruitment Limited is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 3 years' experience to join a Derby-based civil engineering client.

The role covers groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and external works, with projects ranging from £100k to £5m. You will split time between the office and site, with a car allowance for site travel and standard hours 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience in civil engineering.
• Knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• A Quantity Surveying qualification (degree, HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Commercially supporting civil engineering projects from start through to final account.
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment.
• Managing variations and compensation events.
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts and margins.
• Managing subcontractor packages and accounts.
• Working closely with site teams, project managers and clients.
• Supporting projects across groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and external works.
