Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking a Deputy Works Manager for a leading UK manufacturer. You will provide day-to-day leadership to production teams, ensuring targets are met while upholding quality standards.

You will monitor productivity, coordinate labour, materials and equipment, and drive continuous improvements with a safety-first culture. 37 hours per week (7am–4pm) with a competitive package including a bonus scheme and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Deputy Works Manager or similar within a Manufacturing organisation.
• Strong ability to organise, delegate and communicate.
• Ambition to develop their skills and career.
• The ability to lead from the front and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to production teams, ensuring targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor productivity, workflow and resource utilisation, identifying improvements to maximise operational efficiency.
• Take ownership of attendance, performance and conduct matters, addressing issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure health, safety and compliance standards are consistently followed, promoting a strong safety-first culture.
• Coordinate labour, materials and equipment to support smooth production operations and minimise downtime.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments, suppliers and subcontract partners to maintain delivery performance and quality expectations.
• Produce clear operational reports, highlighting risks, challenges and resource requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Works Manager will include:
