Priory Hospital Barnt Green is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager to lead a female PICU ward. You will provide clinical leadership, supervise staff, and drive patient-centred care within a supportive MDT framework.

Active NMC registration is required, with 18 months to 2 years post-registration experience. The role includes staff development, governance, and deputising for the Ward Manager as needed.

Qualificações

• At least 18 months to 2 years post-registration experience in a clinical specialty.
• Active Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration required.
• Experience in a PICU setting is beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Lead as a Senior Nurse on the ward, ensuring a safe, therapeutic and inclusive environment.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, CPD support, appraisal and performance management.
• Support junior staff and students, promote patient involvement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Act as Named/Associate Nurse, lead shifts, undertake ward lead roles, and deputise for the Ward Manager.
• Support recruitment, retention and adherence to policies and procedures.

Priory Hospital Barnt Green, Barnt Green, Birmingham is a purpose-built hospital providing mental health support for adults and young people, including specialist therapy and psychiatry, as well as private autism assessments for adults. It is accessible by public transport, with Barnt Green railway station approximately 1-2 miles from the hospital and local bus routes serving the surrounding area. Due to the semi-rural location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

Works as a Senior Nurse within the ward, ensuring a safe, therapeutic and inclusive environment for patients, families, visitors and staff. Applies relevant policies, statutory requirements and governance frameworks, ensuring risks are assessed and managed and safe staffing and skill mix are maintained. Provides clinical leadership and supervision, supports the CPD, mandatory training, appraisal and performance management of staff, and acts as a role model for learning and development.

Supports junior staff and student nurses, implements and evaluates therapeutic interventions, promotes patient involvement and collaborative problem-solving, and contributes to effective multidisciplinary working and risk management. Acts as Named Nurse and Associate Nurse, regularly leads shifts, undertakes ward lead roles, provides clinical supervision, and deputises for the Ward Manager when required.

Supports recruitment and retention and consistently adheres to all national, company and local policies, standards and procedures.
