Job summary

Priory Hospital Arnold in Calverton, near Nottingham, is recruiting a Deputy Ward Manager. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a salary of £43,134–£46,433 per annum.

You will join an inpatient acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) serving adults with diverse mental health conditions. You will lead the nursing team, support the Ward Manager, and contribute to high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Active NMC registration is required.
• Experience leading nursing teams is desirable.
• Experience providing clinical supervision is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior nursing leadership and support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day running of the ward.
• Lead and supervise nursing staff, supporting their development, clinical supervision and performance.
• Act as a shift leader, ensuring safe staffing, effective risk management and high standards of patient care.
• Support the MDT, oversee therapeutic care and deputise for the Ward Manager when required.

Priory Hospital Arnold has an opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager to join our team. Based in the village of Calverton, in Nottingham and set in extensive grounds, Priory Hospital Arnold is an inpatient acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), for males and females struggling with a wide range of mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior nursing leadership and support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day running of the ward
• Lead and supervise nursing staff, supporting their development, clinical supervision and performance

• Support the MDT, oversee therapeutic care and deputise for the Ward Manager when required.

Essential for the role

• Active NMC registration.
• At least 18 months–2 years post-registration experience.
• Experience within a relevant clinical speciality.
• Experience providing clinical supervision.

Desirable

• Previous leadership or senior nursing experience.
• Trained Assessor/Supervisor.
• Experience supporting staff development, appraisals and CPD.
• Experience working within a mental health or learning disability setting.
