Job summary

Priory Hospital Arnold in Nottinghamshire is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager to join our inpatient acute and psychiatric care team. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours) with a competitive salary and benefits.

You will provide senior nursing leadership, supervise staff, and deputise for the Ward Manager as required, ensuring safe staffing and high-quality patient care within Priory’s standards.

Qualifications

• Active NMC registration.
• 18–24 months post-registration experience.
• Experience in a relevant clinical speciality.
• Experience providing clinical supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior nursing leadership and support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day running of the ward.
• Lead and supervise nursing staff, supporting their development, clinical supervision and performance.
• Act as a shift leader, ensuring safe staffing, effective risk management and high standards of patient care.
• Deputise for the Ward Manager when required.

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

Priory Hospital Arnold has an opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager to join our team.

Based in the village of Calverton, in Nottingham and set in extensive grounds, Priory Hospital Arnold is an inpatient acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), for males and females struggling with a wide range of mental health conditions.

• Provide senior nursing leadership and support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day running of the ward
• Lead and supervise nursing staff, supporting their development, clinical supervision and performance
• Act as a shift leader, ensuring safe staffing, effective risk management and high standards of patient care.
• Support the MDT, oversee therapeutic care and deputise for the Ward Manager when required.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

• Active NMC registration.
• At least 18 months–2 years post-registration experience.
• Experience within a relevant clinical speciality.
• Experience providing clinical supervision.

The following experience would be beneficial

• Previous leadership or senior nursing experience.
• Trained Assessor/Supervisor.
• Experience supporting staff development, appraisals and CPD.
• Experience working within a mental health or learning disability setting.
