Priory Hospital Cardiff is recruiting a Deputy Ward Manager to join our team.

Our Shift Pattern is: 07:45 - 19:30

Priory Hospital Cardiff is a modern mental health treatment unit with facilities including three secure gardens, a gym, hydrotherapy pool, patient kitchens, social area, art rooms, and support services. The unit is developing bespoke treatment packages for patients with complex mental health needs, providing a modern, homely environment that promotes independence, supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team.

The role of a Deputy Ward Manager is to provide senior nursing leadership, supporting the Clinical Lead and Unit Manager.

The Successful candidate will:

• Have clinical and leadership experience to support the nursing team confidently.
• Respond flexibly to service needs and changes.
• Deputise for the ward manager when necessary, showing willingness to develop roles and responsibilities.
• Model core Priory values and set clear expectations for peers.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities

• Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN and at least 2 years post-qualifying experience.
• Relevant clinical experience.
• Positive attitude, commitment to change, improvement, and quality.
• Ability to develop flexible and innovative practice approaches.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
