Job summary

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who can use their initiative to support and develop the team on Washbrook Ward. A positive and flexible approach is essential, along with the ability to support new ways of working.

Washbrook ward is a diverse 27-bed ward that provides care for medical patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. Patients on this ward tend to have a predicted length of stay of under seven days.

Within this role, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the standard of care our patients receive. You will also help develop and influence the careers of others within the team. You should possess excellent communication skills, patience, understanding, and demonstrate recent professional development.

Main duties of the job
  1. Be responsible, with the guidance of the Ward Sister, for providing leadership and teaching within the unit environment.
  2. Support the Ward Sister in general management tasks such as completing appraisals, 1-1s, and other management duties.
  3. Enable unit staff to deliver high-quality, individualized care through knowledge, good example, and education.
  4. Provide support and supervision of nursing staff, and effectively coordinate and deploy resources within the ward.
  5. Assist in providing the Cardiac Monitoring Service across the hospital, including telemetry monitoring.
