We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.

Are you a dynamic, motivated and flexible nurse, with relevant ED experience and qualifications?

Are you looking for the opportunity to grow and develop both personally and professionally and someone who enjoys nurturing and empowering others to flourish in their role?

The Emergency Department at St Richards Hospital, Chichester are looking for Band 6 Paediatric Senior Nurses who are as passionate about delivering quality patient care as we are and who want to make a difference to patients and their families at a time they are most in need.

We are looking for kind and caring, dynamic nurses with excellent communication and organisational skills, who are able to motivate, support and inspire others and be proactive in their role.

We receive a wide variety of Emergency patients, including Trauma, Medical/Surgical, Gynaecology, Maternity and Paediatrics. We have a developing Urgent Treatment Centre run by our Emergency Nurse Practitioner Team who work closely with staff to develop and enhance their knowledge and skills in minor injury management and treatment.

We are a very supportive and encouraging department with close links to Brighton University and are supported by our dedicated Practice Development Team.

To support the Paediatric Lead to manage a team of nurses ensuring the development and maintenance of high standards of nursing care and take responsibility for the day to day management of the clinical area. Take a lead for a specific area of professional practice as delegated by the Paediatric Lead and deputise in there absence.

To provide a high standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care as required within the Paediatric Emergency Department. To utilise a variety of strategies to communicate effectively with children and their family/carers, the MDT, other departments within the trust and pertinent agencies outside the organisation.

In order to deliver the above, you will require an excellent understanding and knowledge of children’s health needs including substantial ED experience and post qualification experience. You will take responsibility for the paediatric department within the Emergency Department both during the day and a night and will be supported by other staff as patient safety demand dictates.

We hope that in choosing UHSussex you are choosing a long and happy career where you will be able to see the difference you make and feel valued for all that you do.

We look forward to receiving your application and the start of your journey with UHSussex.
