We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Service Manager to join our Independent Approved Premises (IAP), commissioned by the Ministry of Justice, based in Romford. The service provides accommodation and support for individuals transitioning from custody into the community, helping them address barriers to resettlement, reduce the risk of reoffending, and build positive, independent futures. In this role, you will support the Service Manager in providing leadership and operational oversight of the service, ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred support within a safe, structured, and rehabilitative environment. You will have line management responsibility for frontline staff, supporting, coaching, and developing the team to deliver effective interventions that promote rehabilitation, personal responsibility, and successful reintegration into the community.
Working closely with Probation Services, Criminal Justice partners, local authorities, housing providers, and other external agencies, you will help ensure residents receive coordinated support that promotes recovery, resilience, and long-term positive outcomes. We are looking for a proactive and solution-focused individual with experience in supported housing, criminal justice, or related services, who can foster an environment where both residents and staff can develop, grow, and succeed.
We're seeking someone who has a genuine passion for supporting individuals involved in the Criminal Justice System and helping create safer communities. You will be a proactive and compassionate leader with the ability to motivate, inspire, and empower a team. Understanding the importance of rehabilitation, risk management, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice, and who can create an environment where individuals feel supported to develop their skills, build resilience, and achieve positive long-term outcomes. Your ability to balance operational responsibilities with a person-centred approach will be key to your success in this role.
