Job summary

The Stanway School invites applications for a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to support safeguarding leadership and drive a safe environment for students and staff in Colchester. You will work with the DSL to manage safeguarding caseloads and ensure adherence to school policies.

The role requires initiative, a strong commitment to pupil welfare, and excellent communication. The successful candidate will join a supportive team within a busy academy under The Sigma Trust.

Responsibilities

• Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure a safe environment for students, staff and volunteers.
• Manage a caseload of safeguarding cases and disclosures with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Act as the main point of contact for staff reporting safeguarding concerns and triage appropriately.
• Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive school environment where students feel valued and heard.
