MTrec Recruitment represents an industry-leading manufacturing client seeking a Deputy Quality Assurance Manager to oversee FSQMS and drive compliance across the site in Seaham, United Kingdom.

You will lead a small QA team, coordinate internal audits and support external audits (BRCGS and Halal), review HACCP plans, investigate incidents, and contribute to ongoing improvements in food safety and quality.

Formación

• Level 3 HACCP qualification and Level 3 Food Safety in Manufacturing required.
• Experience leading a QA team and coaching staff.
• Experience leading HACCP investigations and CAPA.
• Proven track record leading BRCGS audits and corrective actions.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in manufacturing.

Responsabilidades

• Support the management and coordination of the FSQMS.
• Coordinate internal audits and assist with external audits (BRCGS/Halal).
• Support HACCP plans review and attend HACCP meetings.
• Assist investigations of incidents, non-conformances and customer complaints.
• Support microbiological and chemical testing, environmental swabbing, sampling and results review.
• Support traceability, recall and mass balance exercises.
• Provide day-to-day coaching to QA Coordinators and QA technicians.
• Collaborate with QC, Hygiene and Operations teams.
• Support scrape-down and clean-down planning activities.
• Assist Pest Control System and Waste Management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across food safety, quality and compliance.

The job you will do:

• Supporting the management and coordination of the Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS).


• Coordinating and supporting internal audits and assisting with external audits (including BRCGS and Halal).


• Supporting the management and review of HACCP plans, including planning, and attending HACCP meetings.


• Assisting with the investigation of internal incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints.


• Supporting microbiological and chemical testing, environmental swabbing, product sampling, and results review.


• Supporting traceability, recall, and mass balance exercises.


• Providing day-to-day support, coaching and development to QA Coordinators and QA technicians.


• Working collaboratively with QC, Hygiene and Operations teams.


• Supporting scrape-down and clean-down activities and their planning activities.


• Assisting in the management of the Pest Control System and Waste Management.


• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across food safety, quality, and compliance.

About you:

• Level 3 HACCP Qualification (minimum).


• Level 3 Food Safety in Manufacturing.


• Team management experience is essential.


• Internal Auditor Training and experience (BRCGS or equivalent).


• Experience leading HACCP investigations and implementing CAPA is essential


• Experience leading BRCGS audits, investigations, and corrective actions is essential


• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.


• Experience supervising others, with strong people skills and a supportive, coaching approach.


• An initiative-taking, solutions-focused mindset with great diligence.
