Job summary

MTrec Technical is seeking a permanent HSEQ Manager to strengthen the team and drive quality, health, safety and environmental standards across the business.

You will maintain the QMS, lead audits, manage NCRs and support supplier and customer quality activities. The role collaborates with Engineering and Project teams to ensure robust design, documentation and compliance. A NEBOSH or equivalent qualification is preferred for this senior position.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in QHSE or similar management role within engineering or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and maintaining a certified QMS.
  • Experience planning audits and supporting external/customer audits.
  • Investigation of non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Solid knowledge of UK Health & Safety requirements.
  • Experience with supplier quality, inspection, traceability & document control.
  • Excellent written communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident with stakeholders from shop floor to Senior Management.
  • Recognised safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, develop and improve the QMS per ISO 9001:2015.
  • Plan and manage internal audits; coordinate external/customer audits.
  • Manage NCRs from investigation through corrective action.
  • Handle customer quality complaints and product investigations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Projects on quality and documentation.
  • Maintain supplier approvals and supplier NCRs/audits.
  • Define verification and traceability requirements for components.
  • Maintain H&S arrangements including risk assessments and COSHH.
  • Ensure UK H&S and environmental requirements are understood and applied.
  • Develop QHSE KPIs and report to Senior Management.
  • Promote culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement.

MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious engineering client with the recruitment of a permanent HSEQ Manager to strengthen their current team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to apply their knowledge and skills within an industry leading employer.

The Job You'll Do:
  • Maintain, develop and continually improve the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
  • Plan and manage the internal audit programme and coordinate external certification and customer audits
  • Manage NCRs from investigation and root cause analysis through corrective action, close-out and verification of effectiveness
  • Manage and support customer quality complaints and product investigations, coordinating root cause analysis, technical input and formal responses where required.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Project teams to ensure effective design, document control, inspection, testing, certification and project-specific quality requirements are implemented and maintained.
  • Maintain effective supplier approval, monitoring and supplier quality processes, including supplier NCRs and audits where required
  • Work with Procurement and Engineering to define appropriate verification and traceability requirements for components and outsourced processes
  • Maintain H&S arrangements including risk assessments, COSHH, safe systems of work, workplace inspections, toolbox talks and incident / near-miss investigation
  • Ensure applicable UK Health & Safety and environmental requirements are understood and effectively implemented across the business
  • Monitor environmental controls including waste, chemicals, oils and other controlled materials, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and report relevant QHSE KPIs to Senior Management and ensure agreed actions are progressed to completion
  • Promote a practical culture of quality, safety, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the business
About You:
  • 5+ years' experience in QHSE or similar management role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and experience maintaining a certified Quality Management System
  • Experience planning and conducting internal audits and supporting external/customer audits
  • Practical experience investigating non-conformances, completing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions
  • Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety requirements
  • Experience of supplier quality, inspection, traceability, certification and document control
  • Strong written communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Confident working with personnel at all levels, from the shop floor through to customers, auditors and Senior Management
  • Ability to challenge existing practices constructively and follow actions through to effective completion
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent),
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
