A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed by a strong Operations Manager / Production Manager / Process Manager has come to the forefront. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading environmental and recycling business operating a busy Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operation of the Transfer Station, ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently and in full compliance with legal, environmental and company procedures.
The site processes approximately 280–300 tonnes of dry mixed recycling per day, feeding material through automated lines where it is separated into different materials including plastic, steel, aluminium and fibre.
You will be responsible for managing the overall process and operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, quality and compliance. Although you will have a designated desk, this is very much a hands‑on, site‑based role, requiring you to be visible across the facility and actively involved with the operational team.
A typical day will include reviewing the previous evening's operational and quality issues, preparing weekly reports, liaising with the Environment Agency, ensuring the plant is running efficiently and holding meetings with supervisors.
You will also manage a team of approximately 11 personnel, oversee production, manage resources and contracts, contribute to departmental budgets and ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met.
