Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Wotton-under-Edge is seeking an experienced Early Years leader for a full-time maternity cover. Immediate start with a role that supports the Nursery Manager and leads a dedicated team.

You will ensure EYFS compliance, promote a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment, and build strong relationships with children, parents and professionals. A proactive, nurturing approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare/EYFS (minimum)
• Experience in a senior nursery role (e.g., Room Leader/Deputy Manager)
• Strong knowledge of EYFS framework and safeguarding practices
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in day-to-day running
• Lead, motivate and develop staff to maintain high standards of care and education
• Ensure the nursery operates in line with EYFS requirements and nursery policies
• Promote a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children
• Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers and external professionals
• Support staff with observations, assessments and planning
• Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times
