The Old Station Nursery Oxford is seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager in delivering high-quality early years education. You will mentor the nursery team, oversee daily operations, and uphold the EYFS framework with warmth and consistency.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification and have proven leadership experience working within a nursery setting.

Pay: £16.60 per hour /£34,528 per Annum(40 hours per week).
Working Hours:Monday to Friday - 40 Hours

What being a Deputy Nursery Manager involves

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while maintaining excellence in your base room responsibilities. You will:

  • Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years education with pride and energy.
  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Act as a role model, fostering an environment of initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and excellent outcomes for children.
  • Monitor and guide the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging and nurturing learning opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Nursery Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development within your team.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that respects the unique needs of every child.

The nursery is a bright and spacious building, complemented by a beautiful garden area that encourages outdoor play and promotes active lifestyles among the children. Inside, there are three age-appropriate rooms, each led by a passionate and friendly team. These rooms have been thoughtfully designed to enhance children’s development according to their age group. Our nursery thrives on being unique, offering individualised learning to adapt to the needs of our children. We offer a range of extracurricular activities including the Brighter Learning Clubs, Tatty Bumpkin and Sporty Minis.
