Job summary

Willing Recruitment is seeking an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager for a newly refreshed nursery in Amersham. You will support the Nursery Manager while remaining closely involved with the children, team and day‑to‑day life of the setting.

We’re looking for a full Level 3 Early Years qualification or above, strong EYFS knowledge, safeguarding and Ofsted experience, and a positive, hands‑on leadership style to mentor practitioners and uphold high standards across the nursery.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
• Experience as Deputy Nursery Manager, Room Leader or similar.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with day-to-day leadership of the setting.
• Provide a visible, supportive presence for practitioners across the nursery.
• Help lead, motivate and develop the Early Years team.
• Support delivery of high-quality care and education in line with EYFS.
• Maintain high safeguarding, compliance, health and safety standards.
• Assist staff deployment and room/ratio management.
• Help maintain refurbished indoor environments as stimulating and purposeful.
• Encourage use of the large outdoor area for learning and development.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Step up in the Nursery Manager’s absence to ensure continuity of leadership.

We’re looking for an experienced Early Years professional ready to take on a key leadership role, supporting the Nursery Manager while remaining closely involved with the children, team and day‑to‑day life of the setting.

What We’re Looking For

• A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
• Experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Room Leader, Third in Charge or similar would be ideal
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
• Confidence leading, supporting and developing nursery practitioners
• Experience maintaining high standards across Early Years environments
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A positive, hands‑on approach to leadership

Your Role
