Job summary

Standard Bank Offshore is seeking an experienced Compliance professional to support the MLRO framework and ensure regulatory adherence across key business activities. The role focuses on identifying compliance risks, reporting issues promptly, and guiding management on evolving regulatory requirements.

With 5–7 years of Compliance experience, you will work within the offshore group to safeguard operations, interact with authorities, and contribute to robust governance and risk management

Qualifications

  • First degree in Business Commerce, Audit and Legal or equivalent.
  • 5–7 years of experience in Compliance.
  • Expertise in regulatory requirements and banking products and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse operational activities to identify compliance risks and ensure adherence to frameworks and standards.
  • Report material compliance issues using established escalation processes to minimise financial or reputational damage.
  • Advise management and relevant committees on regulatory developments to ensure compliant business operations.
  • Inform business heads and CoE heads about regulatory inspections and findings, and act as a conduit for information requests.
  • In MLRO's absence, handle SARs, liaise with authorities, and manage risks related to tipping off and orders.
