Job summary

Domus Recruitment is seeking a Deputy Manager to join a residential care home leadership team. You will support the Registered Manager, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure high-quality, person-centred care in a compliant environment.

The role requires strong leadership and CQC knowledge, with an emphasis on safeguarding, staff development and effective documentation. A competitive salary and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior care role with 3+ years.
• Strong understanding of CQC regulations and adult social care standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to cover shifts flexibly to meet home needs.
• Experience auditing within a care home setting.
• Experience with CQC compliance at managerial level.
• Extensive experience administering medication in a busy care home environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in operational management and regulatory compliance.
• Cover the Registered Manager during annual leave or in their absence.
• Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to care staff.
• Complete care planning, audits, assessments and quality monitoring.
• Ensure safe, effective and person-centred care delivery.
• Lead by example during floor shifts, promoting best practice and supporting staff.
• Contribute to staff training, development and performance management.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold CQC standards.
• Act as a point of contact for families, professionals and external agencies.
• Support recruitment and HR processes.
• Assist with safeguarding, incident management and risk assessments.
• Administer medication within a busy care home environment.
