Choice Care is recruiting a Deputy Manager for Stoke Lodge, a residential home near Basingstoke. You will assist the Home Manager in running the home, developing care plans, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience in Adult Social Care, with strong organisation skills and knowledge of relevant codes of practice. Expect to manage staffing, inductions and team meetings in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other departments within Choice Care.
• Carry out risk assessments for staff and residents.

Overview of the role

You will be assisting the Home Manager in the operation of a residential care home. Your duties will include development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans;assisting with staff supervision and administrative control; and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes of practice and legislation.

The position requires extensive knowledge, including supervisory experience from working in Adult Social Care. You will need to have a professional approach with the ability to organise and prioritise, and a good knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation.

Key duties

• Identifying residents' emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the management team
• Coordinatingand leading the staffing team, under the direction of the Home Manager
• Supporting the Home Manager by effectively conducting inductions and supervisions
• Conducting regular team meetings and delegatingresponsibilities amongst the team
• Supporting the Home Manager in maintaining appropriate levels of staffing by planning and managing a rota
• Supporting the Home Manager in managing the impact of absence
• Ensuring staff are up to date with training
• Actively assisting and supporting the Home Manager with investigations, disciplinaries andgrievances
• Working in collaboration with other departments and homes within the Company
• Conducting risk assessments for both staff and residents

Where will you work?

Stoke Lodge is a large, detached house, in a residential cul-de-sac, one mile from Basingstoke town centre. The home provides support for up to nine men of varying ages and range of learning disabilities, some with and associated complex needs. To the side of the house is a dedicated building for day activities, including independence skills development, IT and computing and art and crafts. There is also a sensory area. The home has its own transport for local travel and leisure, recreational and educational outings further afield.
