Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home Eastergate

Location: Eastergate, West Sussex

Position: Deputy Manager

Setting: 4-Bed Children's Residential Home

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends & on-call duties (rota-based)

Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people in care?

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our established team at our warm and nurturing 4-bed children\'s home in Eastergate. You\'ll support the Registered Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of the home and ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support are consistently delivered.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Registered Manager with leadership, oversight, and compliance
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing the staff team
  • Leading shifts and ensuring consistent, child-centred care
  • Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews
  • Promoting a safe, structured, and supportive environment
  • Liaising with external agencies, families, and professionals
  • Helping ensure the home meets all regulatory and legislative requirements (including Ofsted standards)
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience in a children\'s residential setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare - essential
  • Working towards or willing to work towards Level 5 in Leadership & Management (Children\'s Residential)
  • Proven experience leading shifts or supervising staff
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • A caring, resilient and confident leader
  • Full UK driving licence
