SDR is an expanding family‑owned care business with three elderly care homes. We are committed to delivering exceptional, person‑centred care for the elderly. We’re looking for a Deputy Manager who is eager to take the next step in their leadership journey. We’re seeking a compassionate, organised, and proactive Deputy Manager to support the day‑to‑day operations of our residential care home and deliver the highest standards of care to our residents.

You will:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support daily operations by assisting the Home Manager in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant care services.
  • Lead and manage staff, including rota planning, mentoring, training, and performance oversight.
  • Ensure high‑quality resident care, overseeing assessments, care plans, admissions, and end‑of‑life support.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance through audits, safeguarding practices, and strong communication with stakeholders.
  • Assist with financial management, ensuring budgets are monitored and records, including petty cash, are accurate.
About You – Essential Criteria:
  • A Deputy Manager with strong leadership skills.
  • Confident in managing teams and upholding best practice across a care setting.
  • Medication‑Trained – confident in administering and managing medication.
  • Knowledgeable about current HR processes, CQC regulations, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Proactive, professional, and passionate about providing person‑centred care.
  • A clear communicator with excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Able to work flexibly, including providing support on a 24‑hour on‑call basis and covering occasional night shifts.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary of from £33,000 to £35,000 per year, depending on experience
  • 40 hours per week (with 24 hours working on the floor and 16 hours off the floor), including alternate weekends
  • 248 hours Annual leave
