Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to lead our Children's Residential Home, creating a nurturing, therapeutic environment where children feel safe, valued and empowered. Working with the Registered Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, champion safeguarding, quality standards and staff development, and build strong relationships with families and professionals.

Essential qualifications include Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent),

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) required.
• Working towards or willing to undertake Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional/behavioural needs.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in effective day-to-day management of the home.
• Lead, motivate and support residential care staff to deliver high-quality care.
• Promote positive outcomes through care planning and practice.
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding procedures.
• Develop relationships with children, families, social workers and professionals.
• Support recruitment, induction and staff development.
