Job summary

The Derby-based Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Care role offers £35,000–£45,000 per annum and a clear path to progression towards Registered Manager. You'll join a growing children's residential care provider with ambition to foster leadership, maintain high standards of care and support a staff team to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

Essential requirements include a minimum of 2 years' experience in children's residential care, Level 3 Diploma in Residential

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience within children's residential care.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and good residential childcare practice.
• Genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Leading, supporting and motivating the residential care team.
• Providing guidance, supervision and leadership to staff.
• Developing a positive, child-centred culture.
• Ensuring safeguarding procedures and care standards are maintained.
• Supporting care planning, risk assessments and documentation.
• Promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Supporting staff development and performance.
• Ensuring the home operates in line with regulations and policies.
• Taking leadership responsibility when required.
• Developing management capability towards Registered Manager.
