Job description

Reeson is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and motivated Deputy Manager to support the running of a new 2-bed residential children's home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Crewe.

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead a dedicated team of support workers. You will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional, social, and physical well-being of the young people in our care, while maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that each young person has an allocated key worker.
  • Ensuring that each member of staff is aware of each child's relevant plans and their responsibilities for implementation.
  • Carrying out the role of "on-call manager" to provide out-of-hours support for the home, on a rota basis.
  • Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve the best outcomes for young people.
  • Undertaking direct work with young people and acting as an appropriate role model.
  • Assisting in developing systems in which young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive.
  • Maintaining accurate written records to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation.
  • Working in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
  • Chairing children's meetings and facilitating consultation with young people.
  • Acting as an appropriate adult.

Requirements:

  • Secondary education with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&SC.
  • Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS.
  • Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues.
  • Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Team-building skills.
  • Supervision skills.
