Job summary

Area 51 Education Ltd is seeking a Deputy Service Manager for our Care & Support Adult Day Opportunities service. You will lead day-to-day operations alongside the Service Manager, coordinating staff to meet individual needs and ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is delivered in practice.

The role focuses on operational leadership, safeguarding, risk management and continuous service improvement within a specialist adult day service for people with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in adult social care or support services.
• Strong understanding of person-centred practice, safeguarding and risk management.
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or complex needs.
• Ability to organise people, give clear direction and make sensible decisions.
• Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily staffing and matching staff skills to individual support needs.
• Overseeing person-centred care and support plans and individual risk assessments.
• Identifying changing needs and acting on them promptly.
• Supervising, coaching and supporting the care and support team.
• Monitoring the quality of support and care recording.
• Promoting safe, consistent practice.
• Supporting safeguarding, incident management and service improvement.
• Working with families, social workers, commissioners and health professionals.
• Taking responsibility for the day-to-day service within your delegated role when the Service Manager is unavailable.
