Qualifications

• Previous Deputy Manager, Senior Carer, Team Leader or supervisory experience in residential care.

• Level 3/4/5 Health & Social Care qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

Deputy Manager / Acting Home Manager

Are you an experienced care professional ready to take the next step in your leadership career?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established family run residential care home in Worthing for a Deputy Manager who will play a pivotal role in the continued success of the service. This is an exciting opportunity to step into an Acting Home Manager position while the Registered Manager is on maternity leave, with the support of an additional Deputy Manager and an experienced care team.

This role would suit an ambitious senior care professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding person-centred care and is looking to develop their management experience within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities for Deputy Manager / Acting Home Manager

• Support and oversee the day-to-day running of the care home.
• Assume responsibility for the service in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Lead, motivate and support care staff to deliver high-quality care.
• Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred support.
• Develop, review and maintain care plans and risk assessments.
• Manage relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
• Assist with staffing, rota management, recruitment and training.
• Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and all relevant legislation.
• Support medication management and accurate record keeping.
• Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergencies as required.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience in a Deputy Manager, Senior Carer, Team Leader or similar supervisory role within a residential care setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A sound understanding of CQC requirements and care sector regulations.
• Experience of care planning, staff supervision and quality assurance.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional standards of care.
• Relevant Health & Social Care qualifications (Level 3, 4 or 5 desirable).
