Job summary

CareTech Group is recruiting a Deputy Manager for Orchard House in Ashford, Kent, to lead a team delivering high-quality, person-centred care for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure services comply with CQC standards while fostering independence and wellbeing among residents.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).
• Excellent communication and written skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.
• Supervise a team of support workers to enable our service users to lead fulfilling lives.

Location: Ashford, Kent
Rate: £15.03 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

We are recruiting a Deputy Manager to join our service in Ashford, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.

About the Service – Orchard House

Orchard House is a small, friendly home which provides care and support for up to 10 people with learning and physical disabilities. The age of the service users are 40 to 74. They support 4 females and 6 males in this service.

We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to assist in leading our dedicated team and ensure the continued delivery of outstanding care in line with CQC and regulatory standards.

The Role

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-insWork with the manager in offering a professional, flexible service.
• Supervise a team of support workers to enable our service users to lead as fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can

We're seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
