Orchard Care Homes is looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join their team at Thornton Hall & Lodge. This role involves leading the care team and supporting the Home Manager in daily operations to ensure high-quality care for residents, including those with dementia.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, strong leadership skills, and a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care. The position offers a salary of £38,799 per annum with numerous employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a larger care home or in a leadership role within a care setting.
• Strong understanding of CQC standards, DoLS, and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
• Ability to prioritize tasks, remain organized, and make sound decisions under pressure.

Deputy Manager

Thornton Hall & Lodge is a bright, spacious, purpose‑built 96-bed home providing high‑quality residential, dementia, and short‑stay care. Rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, our home offers warmth, excellent standards, and a strong commitment to dignity, independence, and choice. Our dedicated team provides high‑quality care for older adults, including those living with dementia, with compassion, dignity, and respect. We are currently seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in the daily running of the home and to help lead our team with professionalism and empathy.

Location: Thornton Lodge and Hall - L23 1UB

Deputy Manager – 40 hrs per week

Rates of Pay / Salary: £38,799 per annum

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist in the day‑to‑day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Lead, supervise, and support the care team to deliver outstanding care.
• Participate in assessments and care reviews, acting as a key contact for residents, families, and staff.
• Foster strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Promote a positive, resident‑focused culture in line with our “Good” CQC rating.

We’re Seeking Someone Who Is
