Job summary

Brook Street Social Care, in proud partnership with a respected children's residential care provider in Salford, Greater Manchester, is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead a team and support emotionally and behaviourally challenged children in a safe, structured environment.

You will oversee residential care staff, ensure quality standards, and contribute to individual care plans while working flexibly including sleep-ins and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a senior, team leader or Deputy Manager role within a children's residential setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager closely in the day-to-day running of the home
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of care staff
• Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and quality standards are met
• Support development and implementation of individual care plans
• Build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
• Be part of the on-call rota and cover shifts when required

Salary: £15.49 per hour / £32,219.20 per annum + £30 per sleep

Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Shifts: 1 on 2 off

About the Role:

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs in a nurturing, safe, and structured environment. You will manage and support a team of residential support workers, ensuring the highest quality of care is consistently delivered while promoting positive outcomes for the children and young people in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one)
