Solace care provides residential care homes for children and youth experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) as well as mild to moderate learning disabilities. We work closely with specialist education providers, therapeutic professionals, and local authorities to identify strategies, learning methods and resources in order to deliver individualized person-based support plans. All in pursuit of helping children in conquering their struggles, building confidence and capitalising on significant life opportunities.

From your very first day, you will receive extensive support and guidance and you will be introduced to a 6-month induction training program, tailored to provide you with all the fundamental skills and information needed to make you successful in your chosen field. Furthermore, all the mandatory trainings required will be provided.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Children's Homes Deputy Manager located in Greater London. The Deputy Manager will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with managing and overseeing activities in children's homes, ensuring the welfare and safety of the children, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Qualifications/ Knowledge

  • Experience in managing children's homes and working with vulnerable children
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding and protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and

Children Home’s Regulations (England) 2015.

  • Previous experience in social care or related field
  • Understanding & knowledge of the needs of children
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (preferred)
  • Familiar with SCCIF and Children Acts

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Child Safety and Wellbeing

Ensure children’s safety, hygiene, and behaviour meet acceptable standards.

Create a supportive, family-like atmosphere for daily living and moral development.

Activities and Recreation

Plan and supervise engaging activities, including trips, holidays, and camps.

Meetings and Reviews

Attend and contribute to children’s assessment, planning, and review meetings.

Daily Recording and Handover

Complete all logs and incident reports before ending shifts to ensure continuity of care.

Communication with Key Workers

Share important updates through logbooks, notes, or emails for effective handovers.

Record incidents promptly and pass forms to incoming staff for office transmission.
