NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an ambitious and experienced Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step into a Registered Manager position, leading and developing high-quality domiciliary care and supported living services across Bristol.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated care leader who is looking to progress into a Registered Manager role with the support of an established organisation. However, candidates must hold an NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care and have previous experience being registered with the CQC. Deputy Managers with a strong background in domiciliary care are also encouraged to apply.

Experience working with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), complex healthcare packages, Continuing Healthcare (CHC), community-based care services, supported living, or learning disabilities would be highly advantageous.

About the Role

As a Deputy Manager, you will take on a leadership role with a clear progression pathway into Registered Manager, supporting the day-to-day management of domiciliary care and supported living services while developing the skills and experience required to assume full registration.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will help oversee care delivery, quality assurance, safeguarding, staffing, compliance, and service development, ensuring services consistently deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care.

You will build strong relationships with service users, families, healthcare professionals, commissioners, local authorities, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), supporting the continued growth of complex care and community-based services while maintaining the highest standards of care.

This role is ideal for an experienced Deputy Manager who is ready to step into a Registered Manager position and is passionate about leading high-performing teams and driving service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the operational leadership of domiciliary care and supported living services.
  • Prepare to assume Registered Manager responsibilities, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and best practice standards.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop care teams to maintain high standards of care and performance.
  • Oversee care assessments, reviews, risk assessments, and person-centred support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with service users, families, healthcare professionals, commissioners, local authorities, and ICB partners.
  • Support the development of complex healthcare and Continuing Healthcare (CHC) packages.
  • Monitor safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints, and investigations, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes, audits, service reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support workforce planning, rota management, recruitment, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records, compliance documentation, and operational reporting.
  • Contribute to business growth and the continued development of services.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide management support when required.
About You
  • NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or similar leadership role within health and social care.
  • Previously registered with the CQC, or able to demonstrate previous Registered Manager experience.
  • We welcome applicants from a variety of care backgrounds; previous domiciliary care experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, governance, and quality assurance.
  • Experience working with complex healthcare packages, Continuing Healthcare (CHC), or Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) would be advantageous.
  • Experience within supported living services and/or supporting individuals with learning disabilities is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of care planning, assessments, risk management, and person-centred care.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Commercial awareness and a passion for driving service improvement and growth.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Benefits
  • Attractive and competitive salary package
  • Paid sick leave
  • Company-contributed pension scheme
  • Comprehensive health and wellbeing programme
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Clear career progression pathway towards Registered Manager
  • Positive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment
