Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a Deputy Lead Pharmacy Technician for Cancer Protocols and SACT Checking to join the Cancer Pharmacy team across cross-site locations in Poole and Bournemouth. The role focuses on governance of cancer protocols, electronic prescribing systems, and Ready to Administer checks, with emphasis on patient safety and service improvement.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science and BTEC in Pharmacy Services.
• Registration to The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Accredited Pre and In-Process Checking within Aseptic Services (PIPC).
• APTUK member status is desirable.
• Pre and In-Process Checking (PIPC) experience.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery and continuous improvement of Cancer Pharmacy service.
• Maintain and review SACT protocols within MOSAIQ and Epic systems.
• Perform technical accuracy checking of Ready to Administer SACT, ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, aseptic services, procurement and nursing staff.
• Assist with training, supervision and competency development of Cancer Services staff.
• Contribute to audits, KPIs, quality improvement and service development.
