Dovehaven are currently recruiting for a RGN - Deputy Home Manager at our Dovehaven Lodge Nursing Home in Ingol, Preston. Working Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, fully supernumerary hours. On-call will be on a rota basis - 42-hour contract.

Dovehaven Lodge is a nursing home catering for up to 112 residents. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity, and respect through positive risk-taking and empowerment.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for assisting the Registered Home Manager in managing and developing high-quality services for all our residents and the management and development of the staff team. We are looking for our Clinical Senior Nurse to instil a culture of care and continuous improvement across the service, actively working with the team, residents, and their families to develop a centre of excellence for person-centred care.

The successful candidate will ensure the promotion of high standards of care, fulfil the duties of the Home Manager when required, ensure the home runs in accordance with CQC guidelines, and that the team is managed appropriately.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience working in a similar environment, demonstrating leadership, motivation, management, and staff development skills.
  • Must be a qualified RGN with a valid NMC PIN and able to provide hands-on nursing/care.
  • Understanding of leadership responsibilities in elderly/social care with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven management experience within the sector and relevant qualifications.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, well-organised, dependable, able to work under pressure, and flexible.
  • Familiar with company/homes policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments, audits, and other outcome measures are monitored and updated regularly.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess quality of care and present findings at managers' meetings.
  • Build a positive reputation of the home and liaise professionally with visitors, families, and external stakeholders.
