Job summary

Priory Group is seeking a Deputy Manager for Lily Close in Rainham, Essex. This permanent, full-time role supports the Home Manager in leading a dedicated care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support in a residential setting.

The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience in care settings, be organised and capable of managing risk assessments, audits, and regulatory compliance, and will build strong relationships with residents and families while coaching staff to excel.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager and readiness to take the next career step.
• Strong leadership style, approachability, and ability to develop others.
• High commitment to delivering high-quality care and understanding its importance to residents and families.
• Organised, proactive, and capable of managing operational care aspects including risk assessments, audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Home Manager to ensure smooth operation and regulatory compliance (CQC/RQIA).
• Lead and inspire the senior care team to provide outstanding, person-centred support.
• Build strong relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals.
• Hold regular staff meetings and maintain open, positive communication.
• Support new staff with inductions and ongoing training.
• Oversee risk assessments and safety checks to ensure a safe home.
• Contribute to quality checks and audits and seek improvements.
• Collaborate with regional managers to develop new ideas and services.
• Ensure staff feel valued, supported, and motivated.
