Job summary

Keys Group is seeking a Deputy Manager for a Children's Residential service in Hinckley. The role reports to the Registered Manager and leads a warm, skilled team to provide high-quality care for children with complex needs.

You will embed structured, safe practices, support staff, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring documentation and regulatory compliance are kept up to date. Nights out of hours hours include sleep-ins and active involvement in care planning.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar healthcare or social care leadership role.
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People.
  • Strong leadership and communication with the ability to motivate a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the facility, including staff management, care, and administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to and implement care plans, participate in reviews and meetings, ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Ensure day-to-day management, monitoring and supervision of staff is facilitated.
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and supervision of care staff, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee assessment, care planning, and implementation of care plans for residents.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality of care, identify improvements and implement changes.
  • Maintain accurate resident files, staff rosters, and financial documents.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and policies, promoting a safe environment.
  • Participate in meetings and training to support team development.

JOB ROLE:Deputy Manager - Children's Residential

LOCATION:Hinckley

SALARY:£16.45 - £17.05* per hour - L5 QUALIFIED SALARY: £16.95 - £17.55* per hour PLUSadditional £3k - £6k for sleep ins (based on 4 - 8 per month)

HOURS:Full-time, 39 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS:Full UK Manual Driving License with access to a vehicle - essential.

As a Deputy Manager:

As a Deputy Manager:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the facility, including staff management, care, and administrative tasks.
  • Contribute and implement care plans, participate in reviews and other meetings as required and ensure documentation is up to date/changed when appropriate.
  • Ensure day-to-day management, monitoring and supervision of staff is facilitated.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of care staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Oversee the assessment, care planning, and implementation of care plans for residents, ensuring their individual needs and preferences are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including resident files, staff rosters, and financial documents.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies, promoting a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.
  • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions, contributing to the continuous professional development of the team.

We are looking for a Deputy Manager who has:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the healthcare or social care sector.
  • A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • A compassionate and caring attitude towards residents, families, and colleagues.
  • IT proficiency, including experience with care management systems
