Job summary

Enhance Academy Trust is seeking an inspiring Deputy Headteacher to share accountability for the quality of education and pupil wellbeing, working with the Headteacher and deputising in their absence.

You will lead teaching, curriculum development, safeguarding and school improvement within our Christian ethos.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in primary education.
  • Strong focus on curriculum development and pupil outcomes.
  • Experience using data to drive school improvement.
  • Ability to coach and develop staff at all career stages.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding standards and KCSIE guidelines.

Job description

Due to promotion of our current Deputy Headteacher, we have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring and experienced leader to join us and play a pivotal role in the next chapter of our school's journey. Working closely with our Headteacher, you will share accountability for the quality of education, the wellbeing of all pupils and staff, and the school's ongoing improvement - and you will act as headteacher in their absence. You will work alongside a fantastic team, who care deeply about our children in our fantastic school. St Botolph's is a special place with a distinctive Christian ethos. Our school vision 'find your fantastic' permeates through every single thing that we do. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, enthusiastic and committed Deputy Headteacher to join our team. There will be a 60% class teaching commitment (mornings and 1 afternoon), initially in either Lower Key Stage or Key Stage One dependant on experience.

  • Shape and deliver the school's strategic vision, embedding our values of courage, joy, creativity, kindness, curiosity and empowerment in all aspects of school life
  • Champion outstanding teaching and learning, leading on curriculum development and using monitoring and evaluation to drive improvement
  • Lead, coach and develop staff at all career stages, building a culture of ambition, collaboration and professional growth
  • Promote the welfare and wellbeing of every pupil, acting as or supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead in line with KCSIE
  • Use pupil performance data with rigour and precision to evaluate impact and inform strategic decisions
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, governors, the local authority and the wider trust network
  • Model the highest standards of professional conduct and a commitment to your own continued development
  • Proven primary school leadership experience and a sustained track record of raising pupil outcomes
  • An understanding of the headteacher standards and what exceptional educational leadership looks like in practice
  • The ability to inspire and motivate staff and children alike, with warmth, energy and high expectations
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, SEND and inclusion and how to translate this into excellent practice
  • The confidence to deputise for the Headteacher
  • A values-driven approach and the commitment to hold or work towards the NPQH
  • A genuine belief that every child, regardless of background, can achieve their very best
  • A sense of humour
