Job Opportunity: Deputy Finance Manager

Trial Balance Consulting has been exclusively engaged by a prominent local charity to source a Deputy Finance Manager for a full-time, permanent position. The role is primarily office-based, with some remote working available on an ad hoc basis.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this pivotal role will be integral to the organisation's continued success. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in the not-for-profit sector; however, candidates from the private sector interested in working for a charity will also be considered.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing the daily accounting lifecycle
  2. Managing the company’s payroll function (end-to-end payroll experience is essential)
  3. Maintaining sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers
  4. Posting journals
  5. Supervising a small accounts team
  6. Producing accounts to trial balance
  7. Managing aged debtors
  8. Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  9. Assisting in the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts
