Job summary

Bank of England is seeking a proactive Deputy Data Protection Officer to operate within the Privacy team. You will provide expert privacy guidance across the organisation and support strategy to ensure compliant use of personal data in line with GDPR and UK law.

You will lead on DPIAs, assist risk owners, and deputise for the DPO as required, contributing to a robust privacy governance culture at the Bank.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated privacy expertise within large/complex organisations.
• Experience of Data Protection Impact Assessments.
• Ability to translate complex privacy requirements into practical controls.

Responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
• Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments and related privacy risk assessments.
• Advise on incident management and regulatory notifications for personal data.
• Prepare privacy risk reports for senior management.
