Data Privacy Senior Manager – Financial Services
Location s: London, Manchester or Northampton.
We are working with a leading financial services organisation to appoint a Data Privacy Senior Manager into a high-impact role within its privacy, data governance and controls function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced privacy professional to help shape a modern, technology-enabled privacy operating model across a complex, regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop, implement and evidence data privacy policies, procedures, controls and governance frameworks across the organisation.
- Embed privacy-by-design into product, platform, architecture and change delivery processes.
- Lead complex DPIAs, TIAs, ROPA activity, consent and cookie governance, international transfer assessments and data-sharing controls.
- Partner with stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Data, Security and Product teams to improve how personal data is used, protected and governed.
- Support incident response readiness, including breach management processes, escalation routes and 72‑hour regulatory response preparedness.
- Help drive the privacy tooling roadmap, including automation, workflow, data discovery, classification and reporting capability.
- Provide senior-level insight, challenge and reporting through clear metrics, KRIs, OKRs and risk-based recommendations.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and privacy requirements in a complex regulated environment.
- Hands‑on experience delivering DPIAs, TIAs, control design, data privacy assessments and privacy risk management.
- Experience operating in banking, insurance, fintech or another large financial services environment.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate privacy obligations into practical business and technology outcomes.
- Confidence working with agile delivery, product teams, cloud platforms, data governance tools or privacy management platforms such as OneTrust, Collibra, Purview or BigID.
- A proactive, pragmatic style with the ability to balance regulatory expectations, customer outcomes and commercial priorities.
