Deputy Company Secretary

Flexible working – reporting into Company Secretary

A newly created position within a team of 5, this role will manage the BAU of the company secretarial function. With space to grow, develop, and upskill the team, this vacancy is suited to someone with extensive regulated experience, transformational experience and exposure working with and advising the main-board.

The role:

  • Oversight of the full secretariat service to the group and investment trust, including all Board, Committee and Panel meetings
  • Support the Company Secretary in delivering strategic governance projects and initatives
  • Manage the relationships with the board and panel members including delivery of information
  • Draft and present Board and Committee reports on key governance topics and initatives
  • Develop, maintain and provide assurance on compliance with policies owned by the Corporate Secretariat team, including Whistleblowing Policy, Conducting Political Activities Policy, Gifts and Hospitality Policy, Conflicts of Interest Policy, Register of Interests Policy and External Appointments Policy

Requirements:

  • Experience of working within and leading a busy secretariat function.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills, specifically at director/board level.
  • Experience in financial services, and/or pensions or other highly regulated industries is essential.
  • Ability to analyse and distil technical regulation into oral and written communication to Board and Executive level is essential.
  • Successful people management and leadership particularly in developing new teams.
  • Career record of leading service delivery to regulated and parent entity boards and committees is a minimum requirement.
