Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer in Dorset with hybrid/flexible working. You will support the Submarine Systems Division, drive the Engineering Lifecycle, own roadmaps, oversee architectural design and mentor a team of SDAs.

The role requires strong systems thinking, experience across modeling, requirements, and product lifecycles, and capability in sonar, real-time systems, or weapon systems. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management are essential.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Chair technical reviews, oversee system specifications, and sanction architectural design solutions across the product portfolio.
• Strategy & Innovation: Drive technology roadmaps, monitor emerging market trends, and identify candidate solution options for complex customer requirements.
• Customer & Product Support: Collaborate with Product Managers on opportunity roadmaps and support SDAs on complex customer programs.
• Team Leadership & Line Management: Line manage, mentor, and resource-plan for System Design Authorities within the division.
