Job summary

SWRAC in Widnes invites applications for the Deputy Centre Manager to support day-to-day centre operations, ensure high-quality education, learner support, safeguarding and regulatory compliance. The postholder will deputise for the Centre Manager and contribute to staff training, mentoring and quality improvement.

The role combines leadership with teaching and learner support, aiming for excellent learner outcomes and an inclusive centre culture. Salary: £36,000–£38,000 per year.

Qualifications

Experience teaching young people with SEND.
Experience supporting learners with barriers to attendance, engagement, wellbeing or behaviour.
Experience working within an educational setting.

Responsibilities

Deputise for the Centre Manager and ensure smooth operation of the centre.
Support teaching, learning and learner support across programmes.
Lead staff development, auditing, and quality improvement activities.
Coordinate safeguarding, attendance and data systems in a timely manner.
Contribute to recruitment, timetabling and learner transition processes.
