Job summary

SWRAC is recruiting a Deputy Centre Manager to support day‑to‑day operations at the Southport centre. The role combines leadership with teaching, learner support and staff development to drive high standards and an inclusive learning culture.

You will deputise for the Centre Manager, manage safeguarding and quality assurance processes, and collaborate with tutors and external partners to improve learner outcomes.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Recognised Teaching Qualification (or willingness to work towards).
• Safeguarding training appropriate to the role.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Centre Manager during periods of absence and help ensure smooth operation of the centre.
• Support staff, learners and resources to maintain a positive, safe learning environment.
• Monitor and improve quality of teaching, learning and assessment across programmes.
• Support learner attendance, progression and safeguarding compliance.
• Assist with timetabling, staff deployment and cover arrangements.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities and staff training.
• Engage with multi‑agency partners and manage learner records and data.
