Job summary

You will work with drivers to ensure safe, efficient loading, prepare machines for drivers as per planning sheets, and support depot operations to maximise vehicle availability and uptime. You will help maintain the yard layout and comply with safety standards. A full UK driving licence is required and a forklift licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required for the role.
• Forklift licence desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a reactive engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all labouring duties and support transport and engineering functions at the depot.
• Work with drivers to ensure safe and efficient truck loading.
• Prepare machines for drivers as notified on Transport planning sheets.
• Ensure all vehicles and drivers have loads available to maximise driving hours and vehicle efficiency.
• Ensure diesel machines are charged and daily invoicing information is completed.
• Maintain/improve machine layout to optimise yard space.
• Park machines after engineers have parked in the laydown area.
• Carry out planned maintenance incl. cleaning and painting per Livery guidelines.
• Organise engineers stores to optimise use of parts.
• Adhere to Quality, Health, Safety and Tech X standards and policies.
• Maintain high personal appearance and wear PPE correctly.
• Support Service Manager, Senior Service Engineer and shift supervisor in maintenance operations.
• Provide general depot maintenance as required.
• Be a reliable, punctual, and great team player.
