Job summary

DB Cargo UK is recruiting a Rail Freight Supervisor in the Hinksey area to join our operational groundstaff team. You will oversee train preparations, manage our depot staff, and ensure safe, efficient departures in line with site rules.

You will work with the Operations Manager on planning, rostering, and safety checks, travelling to other DB Cargo UK sites as needed. A 5-week training course and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role overseeing teams.
• Commitment to safe and efficient workplace practices.
• Willingness to travel to other DB Cargo UK sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparations of trains and day-to-day running of depots.
• Manage Drivers, Mobile Operatives and Terminal Support Workers during shifts.
• Plan site operations with the Operations Manager, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate rostering to ensure adequate staffing for each shift.
• Liaise with engineering teams to report defects and ensure safe departures.
