Job summary

Veolia is recruiting for a Depot Operations Manager in Derby to oversee financial management, business development and team leadership while delivering safe, efficient waste management services. You will drive performance, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with Veolia standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial waste management and regulatory compliance.
• Strong financial and budget management experience.
• Fleet management experience and transport operations knowledge.
• Level 3 Leadership & Management or equivalent.
• Transport CPC qualification.
• IOSH/NEBOSH desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee depot operations including financial management, business development, strategic planning and team management.
• Deliver safe, effective services to maximize operational efficiency within budget and Veolia standards.
• Lead and mentor a team, promoting development and Veolia values.
• Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide feedback for team success.
• Continuously monitor operational performance and implement best practices.
• Drive customer centricity and maximise KPIs across customer service and operations.
• Develop and manage the site budget and allocate resources efficiently.
• Provide clear reporting on business performance.
• Deliver efficiencies through digital tools, asset utilisation and cost control.
• Understand local market conditions and opportunities for growth.
• Foster relationships with stakeholders and regulatory agencies to enhance operations.
