Job summary

Certas Energy in Ellesmere Port is seeking a Depot Operations Manager to lead the day‑to‑day depot operations, optimise driver productivity and ensure the highest HSE standards.

You’ll manage drivers, transport and stock, control costs and drive performance against KPIs while developing a capable team committed to safety and service.

This role offers long‑term career development within a market‑leading energy group and requires CPC, driving hours knowledge and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous line management experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of EU driving hours and Working Time Directive is essential.
• Driver CPC and CPC qualifications are required.
• A PDP (Petroleum Drivers Passport) is desirable.
• A commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental standards and compliance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive Health and Safety culture in line with Safety F1rst principles and demonstrate through your own behaviour that the highest HSE standards are always expected.
• Take responsibility for the safety of yourself, your team, colleagues, contractors, visitors and customers within the workplace.
• Manage and control depot stock, including daily stock management, stock reconciliation and investigation of losses and gains.
• Oversee daily, weekly and monthly HSEQ checks, audits, inspections and vehicle spot checks, ensuring remedial actions are completed.
• Manage operating costs and budgets, monitoring and reporting depot and transport performance against KPIs.
• Create and communicate staff rotas in line with business demand and ensure adherence to them.
• Lead and develop the depot team, conduct annual appraisals, regular team meetings and 1:1s.
• Coordinate depot audits and external agency visits (VOSA, FTA, HSE, EA).
