Job summary

Greenergy is seeking a Depot Operations Manager to lead a 24/7 in-house haulage operation at Ellesmere Port. You will oversee resource planning, budgeting and service delivery while ensuring a high safety and customer-focused standard of operation.

The role requires strong leadership, continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to balance people management with operational and commercial responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in depot, transport or logistics operations management.
• Strong understanding of SHEQ regulations and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams, including drivers, in a unionised or safety-critical environment.
• Excellent investigation skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: ensure depot complies with policies, SHEQ standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Operational Leadership: lead depot team, schedule and control costs, oversee procedures.
• Customer Service: deliver timely and safe fuel deliveries; resolve issues with cross-functional teams.
• Financial & Cost Control: manage budget and KPIs, identify cost-saving opportunities.
• People Management: recruit, train, and develop staff; foster a high-performing team culture.
