Job summary

CW Executive Search Ltd seeks an experienced Depot/Operations Manager to lead a drainage services depot across the UK. You will manage governance, H&S, and strategy, and drive profitability while developing key client accounts.

You will champion safety, oversee teams, deliver on targets, and collaborate with marketing and sales to grow profitable streams; NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications desirable, NVQ/BTEC educated, strong leadership required.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in the drainage/depot industry.
• Proven track record of growing and developing a depot in drainage.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to evaluate business opportunities.
• Effective leadership and people management; works well in teams.
• Self-directed and capable of independent work.
• NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications are desirable.
• NVQ or BTEC level education is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead H&S within allocated operations and manage governance actions to closure.
• Account manager style responsibilities with full P&L and targets; develop business opportunities.
• Engage with marketing and sales to maximise profitable streams; represent the company externally.
• Set clear communication on company goals and lead teams with SMART targets.
• Plan, prioritise strategic tasks and delegate to maximise time efficiency.
• Hold team members accountable through regular dialogue and management.

Job description

Job Purpose:

To develop and maintain specialist Domestic and Commercial services business with major focus on Septic Tank Cleaning, Drainage Services and Industrial Services. This work will mainly include offering specialist Waste Management and Industrial Services advice to domestic, commercial and industrial customers throughout the UK.

Key Accountabilities:

Governance and Strategy

• Lead H&S within allocated operations
• Challenge visible practices which lead to risk for the business, and support practices which mitigate or eliminate it
• Identify areas within allocated operations where direct governance - based actions are required for improvement
• Ensure governance - based actions are closed within allocated times, personally and with direct reports / teams

Company development

• Account Manager for target clients / accounts, carry full P&L responsibility along with other targets such as SLA's
• Actively look for opportunities to represent the company externally and develop business
• Develop plans for target clients / sectors in line with business plan
• Identify most profitable existing business streams and products
• Engage with marketing and sales personnel to maximise most profitable business streams
• Publicise and represent company as needed (e.g. social media, events)

Personal Leadership

• Carry out personal H&S actions as first priority to protecting the business
• Become known as a role model for others to follow
• Provide clear communication on company goals, internally and externally
• Make time to engage with teams on a regular basis
• Listen carefully before acting on the basis of full information
